Clark Street SSA #23 Commission: Next Meeting August 4
The Clark Street Special Service Area (SSA) #23 commission will hold a regularly-scheduled meeting on Wednesday, August 4 at 4pm in the party room at Basil Leaf Cafe, 2465 N. Clark Street. The agenda for the meeting will be posted on this website under the Commission Meetings Tab.
A Special Service Area (SSA) is an economic development tool created by state statute and city ordinance that allows additional real estate property taxes to be levied to fund added services for a defined area. The services funded through the SSA tax are in addition to services generally provided by the City and benefit those properties located within SSA boundaries.
The Clark Street SSA was established in the fall of 2002 and reconstituted in 2008. Nine commissioners, selected from within the SSA boundaries (Clark between Armitage and Diversey and the south side of Diversey between Orchard and Lakeview) manage the Clark Street SSA. Commission members were nominated by the community and then reviewed and approved by the aldermen and mayor.
For more information about the Clark Street SSA or for information about upcoming meetings, please contact Loren Dinneen at (773) 880-5200.
